The M2K represents the newest generation of SC-HVAF thermal spray guns. The gun operates with LPG gases, as well as with natural gas. The air cooled M2K gun sprays the same powder materials as its predecessor M2 but with better deposition efficiencies and coating quality. Improved nozzle and combustion chamber cooling significantly prolongs the life of these important components. The M2K consumes 70% less air than the M2 model. The gun features an extra wide range of fuel-to-air operating parameters, which allows for fine tuning of jet temperature to effectively accommodate powders with different physical properties.

The SSG-M2 effectively sprays cermets, metals and metal alloys, including self-fluxing alloys. It works on a mixture of air with propane, propylene or natural gas. Efficient air cooling eliminates the need for a chilled water supply. The gun can work non-stop for hours without nozzle clogging. The nozzles differ by length. The longest nozzle is used for spraying cermets, while two shorter ones are used for spraying metallic powders. An optional smaller diameter, lowered thrust nozzle is available for manual spraying of cermets. The gun features optional hydrogen injection that boosts the deposition efficiency by 15-20%, and further improves coating quality. The streamlined design simplifies gun use with robotic systems. The powder stream is very narrow, but it can be adjusted by changing the powder injector to correspond to the desired spray spot.

SSTEK Control System controls and monitors the SC-HVAF process, utilizing the full power of modern intelligent industrial control components. A PLC automatically sequences all functions required to start/stop the gun and accurately maintain preset operating parameters. The program shuts down the system if it becomes unable to maintain preset parameters or abnormal situations occur. A modular hardware design simplifies system maintenance. The system features an advanced touch screen user interface and user-friendly window-based screens for ease of operation and system monitoring. Designed in accordance with ATEX safety directives, the SSTEK Control System features separate gas and electrical compartments with air purging in the gas distribution cabinet.

The SSP-100/ SSP-50 is a heavy duty, high capacity powder feeder that was designed specifically to accommodate the high spray rates of the SC-HVAF spray guns; however it is fully compatible with all other thermal spray processes such as plasma spraying, HVOF, cold spray, and other industrial applications. The feeder features a very high reliability as it does not have wearing seals. It provides pulse-free feeding of all thermal spray powders.
