  • Better coatings are now possible with the new true supersonic Mach 3 HVAF gun. Generating 50% higher jet velocity as compared to second generation HVAF guns, such as SB9500 and M2, the M3’s particle velocities exceed 1000 m/sec. Higher kinetic energy of solid particles means higher contact pressures upon impact against a substrate, resulting in better adhesion and cohesion. This dramatically improves physical and mechanical properties of the coatings. For instance, hardness of WC-based coatings applied with agglomerated and sintered powder by M3 gun is increased to over 1450 HV300, which is a 30-35% improvement compared to previous generation guns.

The M3 measures and precisely controls particle temperature, eliminating all guess work from coating application, allowing exceptionally consistent coatings every time. The M3 can spray HVOF cut WC-based and Cr3C2-based powders (-45+15µm) with DE up to 75%, while also being able to accommodate fine cut powders and materials with lower melting temperatures.

     HVAF Spray Gun M2

  • Low operating cost
  • Highly Efficient 100% Air Cooling (no water)
  • 100% Duty Cycle
  • Premium coating quality
  • Near zero oxidation of sprayed material
  • Non-clogging nozzles
  • Designed for spraying both cermets and metals
  • Three nozzle configurations for carbides and metals
  • Low consumption of spare parts
  • Insensitive to operator error
  • Light-weight at 4.2 lb (1.9 kg)
  • Axial powder injection
  • Streamlined, simple, and rugged design
  • Instant start/stop operation

  • The M2 operates at Mach 2 particle velocities and efficiently sprays cermets, metals and metal alloys, including self-fluxing alloys. 100% air cooling eliminates the need for a chilled water supply. The gun's combustion chamber is optimized for operation with natural gas, which allows for dramatic cost reduction while providing good deposition efficiency. The M2 is not susceptible to nozzle clogging and can operate for hours without interruptions. The non-clogging nozzles come in several choices, the longest nozzle is used for spraying cermets, while two shorter ones are used for spraying metallic powders. Optional, smaller diameter, lower-thrust nozzles are available for manual spraying of cermets and metals. The streamlined design of the gun simplifies use with robotic systems. The powder stream is very narrow by default (resembling a laser beam), but can be adjusted by changing the powder injector to correspond to the desired spray spot.
